South Dakota Medicaid uses different routes for provider-arranged transportation and travel reimbursement. Before booking secure or community transportation, ask the provider whether it is enrolled with South Dakota Medicaid and whether the trip is covered. For eligible travel outside the member’s city of residence, the NEMT program may reimburse mileage and, in some circumstances, meals or lodging.
