PAYING FOR THE RIDE

Who pays for rides to medical care?

Several programs may pay for a ride to the doctor, dialysis, therapy or the pharmacy. Pick the situation that fits you to see who to call and what to ask.

More than one may apply

Many people have more than one kind of coverage. For example, someone can have both Medicare and Medicaid, or VA care and Medicare. If one program says no, ask whether another one you have can help.

When you call, have your member ID card, the appointment date and address, and any mobility needs ready. Ask for a confirmation or reference number before you hang up.

TripBridge explains where to ask. It does not decide whether you qualify, book covered rides or speak for any program. The program, plan or agency makes the final decision. Providers listed in the TripBridge directory are not known to take part in any program unless the program confirms it.
